The Ten Best Slipknot Songs From AOL
In over 10 years since their meteorite-like inception, the masked nine from Iowa - Slipknot - have given us four albums and two DVD's worth infinite spins. And AOL Radio has taken on the daunting task of picking the ten greatest songs in their groundbreaking body of work.

Writes the AOL Radio Blog, "As millions of fans will tell you, there's an awful lot of innovation, melody, and yes, meaning behind the horror movie masks worn by the metal pioneers. Blending thrash metal guitar runs with percussion-heavy rhythms, here are the 10 Best Slipknot Songs as rated by AOL Radio Listeners."

While you can go right here to see the list, we couldn't resist offering a spoiler below.

10. "The Nameless"
09. "Left Behind"
08. "Sulfur"
07. "Vermilion"
06. "Dead Memories"
05. "Snuff"
04. "Psychosocial"
03. "Before I Forget"
02. "Duality"
01. "Wait and Bleed"

Well here's my 10
10-Tattered And Torn
9-Pulse Of The Maggots
8-Liberate
7-Spit It Out
6-Skin Ticket
5-Surfacing
4-Disasterpiece
3-The Virus Of Life
2-Prosthetics
1-Scissors.

Very difficult list for me to make... I love Slipknot and almost everything they've done (Sorry i just don't prefer AHIG it felt totally uninspired and just so... Standard. Almost the whole album sounded just like any other standard metal band would sound like) But after thinking about it, i really do love they're Darker more emotional stuff, the shit that you sit up listening to in the dark just totally into it... It's like a suppressant or a release to how you're feeling... I suppose almost all they're songs do that but songs like Scissors are by far the most powerful to me.

There wasn't much time to respond, but I am posting a list anyway; it's all about the music after all - isn't it?

1. Gently - the song that accompanied my crying and screaming on my hour-long trek home from college the year my mother died. After a while, I stopped losing my voice by the time I got home.

2. The Nameless - people come up to me in stores and tell me they tried to wave to me, but I was too busy headbanging in the car.

3. Circle - because everyone needs one song they can sing along to, even if they can't harmonize with Corey.

4. Dead Memories - fantastic bass rules this song; I read that it was written by Paul. It showcases his talented perfectly.

5. Spit it Out - Corey raps... so indicative of an early sound that caught my ear and made me the Maggot I am today. I especially love the hyper caffeinated mix that includes Clown's keg drums.

6. Psychosocial - I've never been pulled into a song so quickly; the second it begins as a matter of fact.

7. The Blister Exists - Proof that having a double kick doesn't mean that all you're going to hear is speed drumming. The layers of sound and talking make it a very multidimentional piece.

8. (sic) - Remember the industrial feeling of some of the early songs that made everyone sit up and beg for more?

9. Left Behind - You really CAN scream with a melody. The video definitely hammered this one home. In the rain.

10. Danger Keep Away - Sigh... for all of us romantic girlies. A good pair of Bose headphones let you hear everything that Corey whispers. Also, it reminds me of the wrung out, banged out feeling of the close of all those concerts on the Subliminal Verses tour.

WHY THE HELL ISNT GEMATRIA (THE KILLING NAME) ON THE LIST? ITS THE BEST SONG EVER MAN COME ON...X[). And now for the reason, it starts out with a brutal and fast riff, the main riff is middle fast but brutal, it got a very very fast solo. Corey's voice is really good when he scream, i dont see why it isnt on the list? And the (sic) and eyeless should have been there too.

Top 10 as follows:

01. "Snuff"
02. "Before I Forget"
03. "742617000027 & SIC"
04. "Sulfur"
05. "Psychosocial"
06. "Duality"
07. "Wait and Bleed"
08. "Dead Memories"
09. "Vermillion
10. "Danger Keep Away"

I love the song Snuff. I love the emotion behind this song. I think it is such a different sound for a band that normally plays really good heavy music. I love this song and Danger Keep Away in addition to the other harder songs as well. It amazes me that there are 9 people in the band and make such amazing, awesome music! Hope they are around for a long time!

1.) My Plague - its my favorite and the first song i heard by slipknot, and its a very meaningful and even change how i think in ways
2.) Snuff - a very powerful sad song that i listen to it when i feel very depressed, it makes me feel more sad but then when the song ends, the sadness just leaves me also it show how the band takes such leaps of faith how they do almost everything well
3.) Pulse of the Maggots - i always thought of the song as Slipknots big fat thank you to all the Maggots out there
4.) (sic) - the song that started it all
5.) Surfacing - the song that made an anthem for Maggots everywhere to shout:
FUCK IT ALL! FUCK THIS WORLD!
FUCK EVERYTHING THAT YOU STAND FOR!
DON'T BELONG! DON'T EXIST!
DON'T GIVE A SHIT!
DON'T EVER judge ME!
6.)People=Shit - a song that shows how the band will go on topics that most people will avoid and hate to hear about, also the song it insane from start to finish it just makes you wanna go nuts
7.) Before i forget - two reasons why i love it, first one being it got them a grammy and thats pretty much the world understanding how far they have gotten and second reason being cuz the songs fucking awesome
8.) Psychosocial - shows how the bands style has changed for the better
9.) Butcher's Hook - shows how much they think the industry they work with (with NOT for, slipknot works for the fans and themselves) is shit
10.)Get this - a fuck you for all the bands that got all the fame with no work and its not fair how slipknot needed to work so hard and go through so much pain to get fame but that makes the band better :)

im a young maggot but i love band like how i love my own family

RIP Paul up there in metal heaven, stay (sic) everyone
