WHAT'S THE NAME OF THE NEW TRIVIUM ALBUM?
Florida metal titans Trivium, who have sold well over half a million records worldwide since 2005, are proud to announce the release of Shogun, their third album for Roadrunner Records. Shogun will be released on September 30.

Critics and metalheads worldwide took notice when Trivium crashed the metal world in 2005, with the release of the Ascendancy album, landing them multiple magazine covers across the globe in less than a year and picking up "Best New Band" accolades almost everywhere they played. Intent on not delivering a 'part two' with their follow-up record, 2006's The Crusade took a slightly different direction, with cleaner singing and more varied influences. It retained their stunning signature guitar work and led to some enviable touring opportunities with bands such as Metallica and Iron Maiden.

Trivium have changed it up yet again on Shogun, choosing not to record in the familiar environs of their home state of Florida. Instead the band headed to Nashville, Tennessee to work with producer Nick Raskulinecz (Rush, Foo Fighters, Stone Sour). The result is a monolithic album that crystallizes the band's sound and showcases Trivium's finest elements. Vocalist/guitarist Matt Heafy is thrilled with the album, saying, "We made a cohesive, epic metal album that combines all of the ingredients of everything we feel we have ever done 'right' musically, while adding a new direction that the music called for. We had so much fun creating this album and hope our fans feel that energy when they listen."

Even Slayer's Kerry King, an undisputed heavy metal god, expressed excitement about touring with the band this fall on the "Unholy Alliance: Chapter 3" European tour. He commented to the UK's Total Guitar magazine, "I'll be at the side of the stage watching them. Great players like that make us want to do better."

Looks like the metal community is waiting with baited breath for Shogun.

I too was more of a fan of Ember and Ascendancy than Crusade but I certainly will never criticize them for changing their sound a little because I would have been even more unimpressed if they made a carbon copy of Ascendancy because it would make them one dimensional and they are too talented for that. As for this "false" bullshit being thrown around shut the fuck up and don't listen to them, don't make ridiculous statements because you don't like a band and I agree with brasil, you go write two insanely successful metal albums then you can shoot your dumb ass mouth! Glad to see all my fellow metalheads standing up for the music that we all love. Rock on folks!!

i hear all sorts of people talkin all sorts of different things but its is as simple as this, trivium plays trivium's music.... there first 2 albums were my favorite but there third album was also kick ass just in a different way.... so if you dont like em then i suggest not listening to them and go back 2, what i can only assume, is cutting urself in the dark while crying emo, and let the metal be just what it is... METAL!!!!!

I think that the idea of putting down someone elses music because of what your friends listen to is pure shit. I'm an open metalhead at my school(one of three). And we are terrorized by the arrogant indie-expiramental assholes for listening to music that insnt "complex" or uses fucked up time signature. I think that if the band has a strong following of passionate fans, that there music is good enough to recognize.

Trivium is awesome. Any one that says their last albums sucked is just a trendy elitist that doesn't really care about metal or music in general.
