WHAT'S UP WITH SLIPKNOT'S MASKS?
New Slipknot Maggots
On July 1, Slipknot, the Grammy Award winning, multi-platinum nine man hard rock enigma, will unveil its new imagery in an exclusive partnership with AOL Music, the web's most trafficked online music destination*. This highly anticipated debut kicks-starts the launch of Slipknot's new album, All Hope Is Gone, which is set for release on Roadrunner Records on August 26th. Masks are an integral part of the band's identity and to reflect this point, AOL Music's Spinner.com will host a retrospective photo gallery of Slipknot masks throughout their career, spanning all three previous albums and including the most recent controversial "Purgatory Masks." The Slipknot mask unveiling will be featured on the main page of Spinner.com worldwide for 24 hours.

Slipknot is a groundbreaking nine-piece machine born out of Des Moines, IA. The band has sold over 10 million albums worldwide. Their last studio album VOL. 3: (THE SUBLIMINAL VERSES) was released in May 2004, debuted at #2 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, selling over 240,000 copies its first week and 1.5 million copies in the U.S. to date. The album broke new ground for the band and spawned the hit singles "Duality," "Vermilion" and "Before I Forget." Making money is fine. I'd play easier more straight forward music if I could make money off of it. But I wouldn't wear masks to do it. And don't get me wrong, I like Slipknot. But from a business point of view, when you gain fans at the start based off of "heavy" music......you're gonna have people talk shit about you when you switch to "lighter and easier" music. And your career is going to suffer. Oh, and how many of you out there are musicians? I'm not as good as Joey Jordison, but if I wanted to make a career out of music I would practice until I was (which would realistically be for about a year). But instead I own my own business, cuz I didn't want to try and sell shitty music. That's the theory Slipknot out to approach. Go back to school and get a real job.

To any of you knobheads who are bitching about slipknot, I'd love to see any of you have even a tiny amount of talent and experience that they all have. Or the success for that matter. And to anyone calling them sell outs - as if you'd turn down any of the opportunities they've been given, whether people then called you a sell out or not. They deserve to be where they are now and they've influenced so many people.

Also, am I the only one that coreys mask really freaks out??

ERIC- Joey is great. Period. I don't care who is BETTER, but he is one of the greats. No shit BTBAM blows Slipknot away they play a more technical form of music. However, BTBAM are part of a trend whether they like it or not. It is called the SCENE. But I can probably garauntee that the dudes in Slipknot have more talent in their left nut then you do in your whole body. So while you're having wet dreams about the newest pair of camo shorts you're going to buy these guys are going platinum. I think we know who has failed and who has succeeded here.

Slipknot blows donkey dick now. The first album was influential, now they sound like every other bitch ass metal band. Derek Roddy is way better than Joey, fuck Joey. Between the Buried and Me blows Slipknot away. Slipknot is for trendy faggots who are only interested in "what kind of masks they are going to where now". Why do you need masks when you play music? It's cuz the music sucks and you need a gimmick to sell records or tickets. And 13 year old bitches think it's cool. They need to focus more on getting some talent and less on gimmicks.
