WHY IN THE HELL DID DEICIDE CANCEL THE ZIGGY'S N.C. SHOW? I THOUGHT I WAS FINALLY GOING TO GET TO SEE THE EVIL BASTARDS BUT NO.GOD JUST WONT LET IT HAPPEN. OKAY I GUESS I'LL HAVE TO GO SEE SLAYER INSTEAD. WHY SATAN WHY?
CM responds:
Satan: "My Child, you have not shown you are worthy or prepared to see a Deicide show. My advice, sacrifice a chicken and pray once again for Deicide!"
(just kidding, we as a record label do not endorse, promote, believe in, or otherwise facilitate the sacrifice of any being - human, superficial, plant life, teddy bears, or barnyard variety...but we do recommend you drink milk (barring your are not lactose intolerant) and eat all your vegetables)

Email from Tim M :
Hello cats at roadrunner. First i wanna just say this label has been a long
time favorite since i listened to heavy metal. OK first question how big a
Britney Spears fan are you? Just kidding. I was wondering why dont you guys
ever sign someone like say Anthrax or maybe Napalm Death??? OK i am like the
biggest Obituary fan out there and im wondering if you could tell me if they
are under contract to do another record anytime soon??? That anthology
doesnt really count cause it wasnt exactly full of new material. Thanks for
any info. And more thing you might see my sheet of obituary's lyrics on
Jaccos Obituary page if he decideds say yes so check em out ok.

thanks tim
CM responds:
Hey Tim,

First off, thanks for referring to us as 'cats' - that could be one of my favorite words (outside of 'whilst').

So, let me answer your questions - since you took the time to write this well thought out email, I will take the time to answer as best I can:

1) Britney Spears - huge fan...though not so much for the music, if you know what I mean. Not kidding!

2) Anthrax/Napalm Death - both are great bands, and I know that some people here are friends with those bands...however, I have no answer for your question...all I can say is never rule out the future (at the same time never count on it either).

3) Obituary - biggest fan you say? You are going to have to get in line behind our head MIS cat here! Yes, they are still under the Roadrunner wing, but don't expect a record anytime soon. Let's just say they are on 'hiatus' right now. I am sure you know, but Trevor is touring this summer with his new band Catastophic (a band he says is what Obituary would sound like now if they were still playing).
Anyway, from what I understand, the band has not ruled out doing another recording. As stated before, all I can say is never rule out the future (at the same time never count on it either).

4) Jacco, get to it my man! Check out Tim's goods.

thanks for the line Tim. I purely enjoyed reading and writing this email, though I am not sure how much help I really was...painting all the black to grey. Such is life.

cheers

HARD WITH THE MUSIC!!!
AC responds:
To be honest, not a lot is newsworthy right now. I can either make shit up or say things like "Rob took a shit today at 3:00PM" or "Dave finished a 20oz Mt. Dew in 5 sec flat today" or "Ahrue was abducted by aliens for the third time this month".

They've finished recording, so we're on to the boring, yet very important part of recording: mixing and mastering. There is no finished music, no finished artwork, no photoshoot, no nothing complete for you to see or hear yet. We should *definitely* have some more info in a few weeks. Believe me, as soon as something noteworthy happens, it'll be on the website.

Believe me, the music is only one of many things I stay hard for.

Oh... and hit the "Caps Lock" key (to the left of the "A") once. I think it's stuck.

I ran out of milk.
AC responds:
Too bad. It does a body good, after all. If you find the right girl, you can have all the milk you need.

Email from Dan M :
Hey guys... I know you all are busy (well you fake it anyways) but there is
some stuff that should be taken care of. When a person is as bored as I am,
they'll spend all of their time on the net and surfing good sites, and I've
spent many an hour at the RR site... but there's some stuff that needs to be
fixed. Namely three things.

1)Roadrunner Radio
It's so outdated that it ain't even funny anymore. Change it or something,
please! Good idea (I loved it the first time I listened to it), but keep it
a bit more current. Site says it'll be updated every three weeks, but it's
been like three months since then.

2)Games Section
Downer Blast is fun, but what else is in the works? I could have come up
with a killer Dry Kill Logic fighting game, or an absolutely insane "Silent
Acquiescence of The Roadrunner Millions" Thing for Sinch when their CD is
done. Or "Viva la Revolucion!" for the NiƱos! Something else would be cool.

3) Mailbag
There's got to be some good e-mails coming in and some witty responses to
them. I like laughing at people and that could have been a highlight.

Some suggestions... act as you see fit.

-Dan Madole
PS: Phase Two is upon us, you have been warned. Resistance is futile: The
goat is Iowa. In torment in hell. Whatever.
DK responds:
Dan - You Da Man.

Noticed you all over the site. This e mail will go straight to our regular website dude. You're right about updating radio and mailbag - both wothwhile ventures. However, you will be pleased to here that a new game, Ill Pac Man (for Ill Nino) will debut on the site soon (July 2?).

Email from James G :
"Remember when we said the two songs we gave you were final mixes? We lied!"
(the first person who can email us the name of the movie from which the above line is based off, will get a full length Ill Nino disc once release date hits. hint: imagine it being said in an Austrian accent...)

How about Ah-nuld in "Commando"? The part where he's hanging that little yellow-porsche-driving dipshit off the cliff by his ankle.....even if I wasn't the first, you gotta give me points for being specific......please?
CM responds:
Nope, you were not first, but you do get points, yes! Especially with the 'Ah-nuld' writing!
next time we do something like this, mention this in your email...it will grease the palms on the next go around!
cheers

Email from Ackra K :
To the staff at Roadrunner,

I must start off by thanking you for providing heavy music fans what we have always wanted, great music and a revolving door of fresh and innovative acts.

My one complaint is the late release of the "limited edition" digipaks for the majority of your artists. The quality of the your digipaks is unmatched. Although it's great that you are releasing the additional tracks from the Spineshank digipak on MP3 for people who already have the album, the hardcore fans will want to purchase the digipak regardless for the additional photos, artwork, etc. This compels many of us to buy two copies of the same album.

I feel that Roadrunner should release the limited edition digipak simultaneously with the regular edition, as you did with Fear Factory's Digimortal. This will save hardcore fans money in the long run and create a much happier fan base.

Thank you for your time and I look forward to enjoying yo
Ackra K
AC responds:
Hi Ackra

Thanks for the props. We do what we do with heavy music because we love it as much as you do.

To a large extent we totally agree with what you're saying about digis. Before this 'Shank digi, the last three we released (FF, Soulfly and Sepultura) were released at the same time as the album and feature all the album tracks plus extras. Digipaks are meant as the "exclusive collector's item" version of the album. With this one, if you don't want to buy the new CD, you're welcome to download the extra parts. On the other hand, there are hardcore fans who want to buy the new disk.
