Happy Thanksgiving, and welcome to this week's "LESSON FROM THE SILVER SIDE", a look at what is going on with Nickelback and their latest release Silver Side Up... Of course, where to see Nickelback. Outside of their current TOUR with Saliva and Default, those of you in the New York area can catch a feature on Nickelback in the 11/27 printing of Newsday. Word is the feature is about their upcoming NYC show at the Hammerstein Ballroom on 11/30. The video for "Too Bad" finished shooting earlier this week in Vancouver. The final product should be ready before the end of December, however you probably won't get a chance to see it until the New Year. Where else to see them? If you are psycho, you could probably follow their tour bus around...right now they are somewhere on a road towards Ohio...of course, you didn't get this idea from us. And now, onto the facts. As always, all are true. The facts we present to you this week are as follows: Random Fact #34 - Of course, we start with the radio story. "How You Remind Me" is still the #1 played song on Mainstream, Modern, and Active Rock formats for now the 12th, 11th, and 8th weeks in a row, respectively. At the Heritage Rock format, tis still at #2 for now the 3rd week in a row. By the way, do you have any idea who is at #1 on the Heritage format? Guess...one guess...c'mon now...for shits n giggles take a guess...Creed (yes, that guy Scott Stapp's band). Word is they have a catalog. And it's true. Next track you will be hearing from from Nickelback on the radio is "Too Bad". Word has it this is the band's favorite track to play live. It's true. The official add date to radio for this song is 11/27, though many a station has already added it to their playlist. Radom Fact #35 - This is actually pretty frickin funny...and goes to show it really is time for a new Nickelback song on the radio. This comes to us from Dan M in Virginia Beach. His Random Fact goes like this: Hey guys... got a fact for you... completely random, weird, and true! My band (Mind's Eye, Va Beach VA) had agreed to cover the Nickelback song "How You Remind Me" which is sweeping the radio waves here like crazy. Problem is our drummer was going to come from a dentist appointment and didn't have time to listen to the song enough to get it. So, we figured we'd fake it for a practice until he could get the time to listen to it enough to get it right. Well... he arrives at practice and he bursts out with "Hey, I got to hear it!" So I asked him "How'd you get to hear it, you were on your way out the door last time I talked to you!" His response: "Well, I heard it on the radio, so I listened, and then I heard it at the dentist's office waiting to go in for the appointment. When the song ended, they called me in. And then, on the way over, I heard it again." Weird... radio and dentist's offices finally have something in common! not sure if we should have kept that last line in, but we did...Dan, thanks for the fact. For the rest of you in the Virginia Beach area, we ask you keep an eye out for Mind's Eye and check em live if you can...let us know what you think of their version of "How You Remind Me". Random Fact #36 - now what Lesson From The Silver Side would be complete without one strip club story? Hmmmmm? Well here it is for this week: though no names will be given, this is completely true. One week back a couple employees here at Roadrunner and one cat whom previously worked here, went on a trip. Well, on the Saturday of the trip the three gentlemen entered a Go-Go Bar to shield themselves from the blinding afternoon sun, where they proceeded to stay for the next eight hours. During one of the one hour spans in the above time frame, "How You Remind Me" was played twice. It's true. Everything you have read is true. Make sure to check back next week for a Random Fact from the man behind The Production Gospel According To Dave. Until next time, the has been a Lesson From The Silver Side... new release Silver Side Up in stores now
