So, you wanna be a rock n roll band out on the road? Seeing this great country of ours, meeting hot women around every curve and living the endless party? Well, maybe it's not all like the above description, but it is an experience nonetheless. A week ago Dry Kill Logic hit the road again here in the US with Primer 55. Vocalist Cliff has been cool enough to actually provide us with a day by day recap of their travels over this past week, to get y'all reacquainted with the nonsense. Check it out: Day One: Tallahassee, FL - We show up to the venue around 3, and immediately seek out our bros in Primer 55. We have not seen them since the Fear Factory tour, and spend an hour hanging out with them and shooting the shit about what not. We opened the show Boy Hits Car didn't show up that night, and Simon Says has come off the road. The show was cool - we met a bunch of people and hung out all night. Day Two: Columbia, SC - We played a place called Uncle Doctors we got lost trying to find the damn place and drove for 3 hours as a result! Get all our gear inside - Boy Hits Car still isn't there - the band was trapped in the UK as well. There were a few local bands on the show, which is always cool - Bleak and Throttlerod were their names. The damn RV keeps on breaking down - no A/C, no electricity, so no TV - nada. We're hoping to get it fixed tomorrow - hope so. We always end up trashing our RVs. Oops, hope nobody from Roadrunner read that...=) Day Three: Our show in Chattanooga, TN @ a club called the bay. Met 2 of the coolest street teamers and a bunch of new friends at the show, but unfortunately, the show booking was a nightmare. We waited around all day (in an RV that didn't work, remember?), then loaded in and opened for a Top 40 cover band. Needless to say, we were a bit, ummm...'heavy' for the bill. Still a good time, though - we really don't have too much to bitch about. Day Four: We went to Ardent Studios in Memphis, TN wth our producers to record a cover song. We worked with the guy who mixed Led Zeppelin III - that was a cool experience, I can't tell you much about it except (a) we were there for 22 hours tracking it and got it done, and (b) its a track by a band called Prong. Had chicken and ribs - it was pretty good. Day Five: Little Rock, AK - Stopped to play a club called Vino's in Little Rock, AK - cool place. Its a combination pizza place/venue, and all the beer and pizza you can handle. I don't like pizza, so I went down to the Taco Hell and got some nasty shit to eat. Small venue, but those are the best - All the bands kicked ass. There was a local band on there called Benign - they were really good, and the kids liked them no doubt. We had to leave during Primers set as we had a ten hour drive to get to Houston but that's ok - I know those guys kicked some serious ass. Day 6: Houston, TX - We played a place called the Engine Room - that's a nice club! American Head Charge joined the bill today - we met them during the Fear Factory tour and totally dug them right away. They have a great show and a great CD - I wish those guys all the best. The show was good for us - it was packed and the mosh pits were going off!!! The kids were nuts for Primer too - stage diving and moshing...just like it should be. We all stayed at The same hotel, and we went back there and partied all night long. Those guys are family to us - we love them. Jason asked me to go up and sing 'Set it Off' with them. I think I just will! Day Seven: Dallas TX - Today was good, we went and got a new RV (finally!) Same looking one - we were able to switch it in under and hour and rush to The gig. The place was cool - they didn't advertise us on the bill, but whatever. The real fans were there and we hung out after The show all night. Ate some good chili cheese fries too. I am super tired today - its been a whirlwind, but its all good. Phil and Dave will be back tomorrow with the tour updates too. Be cool everyone - see you at The shows!
