i thought this was front-MEN?? if we are to include women, what about angela gassow of arch enemy? i can think of just a few other glaring oversights:
d. randall blythe
corey taylor
dez fafara
michael akerfeldt (quiet as he may be, there is NO OTHER M.A.)
matt heafy
robb fucking flynn
nergal
george 'corpsegrinder' fisher
chris barnes
max cavalera
chino moreno
tim 'ripper' owens
KING DIAMOND!!!!
for god sakes....if you are going to include puciato of d.e.p., how are you going to leave out robb flynn of machine head?! i realize i have a list jammed with roadrunner artists, but come on! these are arguable points....but no one would deny the power of corey taylor, or the man who fronted sepultura and soulfly; max cavalera. i do disagree with this list quite a bit, and god help metal edge if their list is this skewed.
and why in the hell is gg allin on the list?! he wasn't a great front man...he was a self-mutilating, shit-eating, riot inciter. while this does make him a very intriguing character, this does not make him a good front man
Dave Mustaine deserves to be on this list, if not near the top of it.
Mustaine is credited for his signature vocals and guitar stylings, with the grinding thrasy voice he has, his impecibly powerdriven riffs, and his insane solos. The ability to embody all this talent and present it with near absolute perfection every time elevates him to legendary status.
Mustaine also cares deeply about his fans and followers. He makes grand efforts to connect to them both regularly and personally. His ability to build a near personal relationship with every droogie and his desire to give them what they want to hear is unbeaten. His concerts all full of all the great Megadeth hits and nothing else...he plays what people want to hear.
Mustaine also created the aggrandized replacement to Ozzfest, Gigantour, which has brought together dozens of huge names in the metal world (such as Children of Bodom and Dream Theater) to culminate in a huge metal megashow and the fans thrive in the multifaceted concerts.
Mustaine is a metal genius and a guitar god with the ability to give the world the chaos of thrash metal with Megadeth and undoubtedly deserves to adorn this list.
This list is frankly shocking. I can understand not wanting to appear biased but the lack of Dave Mustaine is unacceptable, especially when you consider there are people on here who aren't even actual frontmen. What's even worse is that Serj Tankian and Marilyn Manson are above Lemmy, that's ridiculous.
Uh...I know his last two albums blew but Lita Ford is on the list and no Chris Cornell? Fucking Joan Jett should be there before her...she had more hits and fucking can write music...Kiss me Deadly and that's it...wtf?
Damn even Anselmo didn't get the love he deserves.. he is pound for the pound one of the top three best of all time (when he was on.) Halford and Phil should both be alot higher.. And where is Lajon?
