Since September 19th, Machine Head has been on the road with labelmates Fear Factory, Chimaira, Ill Nino. Collectively they are touring under the Roadrunner Road Rage name (a tour brought to ya by the good cats at Revolver and Guitar World mags). Since September 29th, Machine Head has added "Deafening Silence" from their latest release Supercharger to the live show. September 29th's show was at The Chance in Poughkeepsie, NY. Before the first time playing this song, vocalist Robert Flynn prefaced it by telling about his day on September 11th. A friend called him at 7:45am and told Robert to turn on the TV. As he turned the TV on, he saw the first tower collapse. He spent the next three doing little more than sitting in front of the TV and watching. At this point Robert goes into a bit more detail, but you get the idea. He ends by dedicating "Deafening Silence" everyone affected by the happening (be it directly, indirectly...). Starting with the first playing of the song at the NY and ever since, all crowds have started up with a "U-S-A" chant during his speech before the song.
