Chuck Schuldiner, founder of seminal Florida metal outfit and former Roadrunner act Death, has spent the last 2 years fighting a life threatening bout with brain cancer. A few Roadrunner acts - Slipknot, Fear Factory, Spineshank, and Chimaira - have pitched in for the cause. There is currently an auction being held at wherein all proceeds will go to help Chuck pay for the expensive, experimental treatments being used in an effort to save his life. Items available for bidding include a Fear Factory Gold Obsolete Record and autographed photos and cd's from Spineshank, along with the Ultimate Chimaira Fan Pack which includes an unreleased demo CD of band rehearsals and Chimaira fucking around in the rehearsal room, unreleased 5 minute promotional video for "Dead Inside" (featuring never before seen behind the scenes and live footage), a signed long sleeve Chimaira T-shirt and windbreaker, signed Andols Herrick drumsticks, a signed drum head, Custom Chimaira guitar picks, a signed This Present Darkness CD AND a (REAL)Chimaira Laminate (Backstage) Pass. What is Slipknot contributing to the cause? "I'm gonna try to find something from my personal collection that maybe nobody can find," Corey Taylor tells. "Chuck's music was really important to me growing up. So I wanna auction something that's really cool that can hopefully bring in top dollar." Other artists auctioning goods away include Korn, Disturbed, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Godsmack, and Kid Rock. Check out the auction and see what else may strike your liking. note - Death was previously on Roadrunner Records, releasing the classic Symbolic LP in 1995. As Corey Taylor describes, "Chuck's music was really important to me growing up. It was really intricate and interesting."
