So, gave Rumblefish guitarist Jason DeCosta a ring today to talk about a couple things. First thing learned was that the band's show this upcoming Saturday (01/11) at the Roxy in L.A. is officially sold out...standing room only. Well done. During the call, Jason was in the midst of driving out to San Diego, one stop out there to hit an Indian casino for gambling...and to visit his parents who run one of said casinos. But the visit will not last long, as Rumblefish does have rehearsal tonight. The status of the Rumblefish album is that it is in the mixing process, and will be coming later this year - definitive release date not yet confirmed. Anyway, we give you the following random bits of info from Jason's holiday: Roadrunner: "Three best things about the holidays?" Jason: "Oh shit...okay, ahhh...getting money, not having to rehearse (said in jest, of course), and eating as much shit as you want." Roadrunner: "Three worst things about the holidays?" Jason: "Having to get presents for everyone, old family members who don't remember your ass, and losing the weight after you gained the weight eating all the crap." Roadrunner: "And last, the weather situation?" Jason: "Oh my God, it's the windiest I have ever seen in my life. At the Rainbow (Sunset Blvd bar), you can't even sit outside - food and drinks blowing off the tables...and then it's raining intermittently, and then it's humid. It's really weird weather, something is going down...I haven't seen it like this in years." Jason, speaking of "really weird weather," speak of the devil and he does appear - today in NYC it is in the 50's...the fuckin' 50's...by way of comparison, twas freezing temperatures the last couple weeks leading up today, and will go back to those temperatures starting tomorrow. Odd? Jason, thanks for the time, and all the best at the show Saturday night...and in the casino today...
