Kenny Wayne Shepherd, accomplished guitarist and devout Jimi Hendrix fan, has just wrapped the Experience Hendrix Tour. But when the trek came through NYC, Shepherd stopped by the Jimmy Fallon show to jam out some Hendrix classics with The Roots on live TV.
While backstage in the green room, Kenny was presented with Jimi's iconic white Fender Stratocaster -- and when we say presented, we mean a man wearing white gloves handed the very valuable guitar to Kenny, who then showed us all the nicks and scratches that reveal the 1968 Strat's hallowed history.
Kenny has described his love of Hendrix, saying, “Jimi Hendrix’s music has really inspired me to push the limits of my own music. He didn’t observe any boundaries musically. He was an amazing player and a tremendous showman so I incorporated some of his showmanship in what I do.”

The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band has just released a live blues album Live! In Chicago, which received a Grammy nod for Best Contemporary Blues Album this year.
