We're nearing the release of the highly anticipated God of War: Blood and Metal EP featuring six of our esteemed bands, and to give you a taste of what's in store, here's a listen of Trivium's "Shattering the Skies Above" from the upcoming album.

This first track the band has written with new drummer Nick Augusto was "a fun experience," says frontman Matt Heafy. "When we were initially asked to write an original song for the game, we were slightly perplexed since we’ve never actually written a track for something other than a Trivium record, but we answered the call as we are fans of the game."

Heafy continues, "This new song captures a certain energy we've been trying to harness on record as well, as it will show all our fans worldwide where Trivium is heading musically in the future.”

In addition to this preview from the upcoming EP, fans can pre-order the album on iTunes RIGHT NOW. Reserve your copy of Blood and Metal now!
