The December 2011 issue of Decibel magazine features a cover story on Megadeth, including in-depth interviews with Dave Mustaine, David Ellefson, and Chris Broderick. Mustaine talks honestly about his recent health issues, but also expresses genuine - and frankly justified - pride in the band's brand-new album TH1RT3EN, which will be in stores November 1.

Describing the process of working with Johnny K, a producer who'd previously made records for Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold, Mustaine says, "you gotta understand, I'd never heard of this dude before, and he didn't seem very metal to me at all. He seemed like the jock with short hair who loved sports and wore basketball clothes all the time, and I was like, 'Uh oh, did I mess up here?' But I think we made a great-sounding record...I thought it was going to be a bummer that Andy [Sneap, who produced United Abominations and Endgame] wasn't available, but it ended up being a blessing."
