Thrash pioneers Megadeth have announced their first U.S. headline dates in support of the critically acclaimed Roadrunner Records release United Abominations. The band has just taken Europe by storm, having played across the continent last month to hundreds of thousands at some of the largest and most renowned summer festivals, including Download, Rock IM Park and Rock AM Ring.  "We are back and we are serious, and we are coming to see you as soon as we can," Dave Mustaine commented on upon returning home this past weekend.

This spring the band toured North America with Heaven and Hell.  The critics raved:

"Leader Dave Mustaine awakened minds and bloodied noses with biting guitar work, while his rejuvenated quartet flashed a mean streak it hasn't possessed in years." - Chicago Tribune

"...a hard-bitten set reaped from its ‘80s thrash period" - Los Angeles Times

"Mr. Mustaine was one of speed-metal's originators and his double-time riffs are propulsive...he gives solos the direct feeling of wrestling with the music as he plays it, with chaos and aggression." - New York Times

"..Ferocious...outstanding...pure energy." -Illinois Entertainer

"Dave Mustaine has put together a lineup that is unstoppable." - Harder Beat
