As you should be well aware, Chimaira is currently touring the Midwest with Factory 81 and labelmates Ill Nino. Last night (07/26), the boys were in Pittsburg, Kansas...yes, the other 'burgh'. As Chimaira's vocalist Mark Hunter describes, "it's basically like a mirror city of Pittsburgh, PA, except it's the exact opposite...you would never be able to tell the difference!" On the hallowed grounds of Fox City Limits in Pittsburg, KS, last night's show started as any other, except the P.A. 'sucked'. Mark tells, "no one was helping to fix the situation, so I opened my mouth...the next thing you know, our drum tech (Moody) is running full force like an ox trying to run them over (the P.A. speakers). Security came, and he (Moody) was throwing them off the stage one by one. Then all the Ill Nino guys came up too...Ill Nino and Chimaira against four security guards, who coincidentally were all wearing cowboy hats...they (guards) realized they lost the fight and let us continue on with our set." Mark ends the story by adding "I don't think we'll ever be asked to play in Pittsburg, Kansas ever again." Words of wisdom Mark, words of wisdom indeed... "Other than that, the tour is going great, and we're having a great time with the Ill Nino guys and Factory 81 too," Mark concludes. Currently the band is traveling through Missouri on their way to Lincoln, Nebraska. They will be playing tonight (07/27) at Knickerbocker's.
