a couple notes of interest... Type O Negative - ahhh, the pride of Brooklyn...Did You Know? Brooklyn was founded in 1664 by English settlers, or so Peter Steele said before saying, "I don't know, what the hell do you want me to say about Brooklyn?" during his appearance on the Much Music USA Uranium show. It was actually quite a watch, hopefully you remembered to check it out. In other Type O news, the title of their upcoming release (which should be out this summer) will now be Life Is Killing Me. No absolute release date yet, but it is getting close: You can actually hear a bit of the new music coming from a couple select offices/desks here at RR NY. The Heart Of Roadrunner Records - and whilst the mention of the Much Music USA Uranium show is still floating around, make sure to check it out on March 28th for a full on Roadrunner episode. The videos for Soulfly "Seek and Strike," Killswitch Engage "Fixation on the Darkness," Stone Sour "Get Inside," and Slipknot "Wait and Bleed" will all be played. Oh, and if you are a novice to the world of Roadrunner Records, make sure to pick up The Heart Of Roadrunner Records, in stores now (ain't that convenient?). Chimaira - ya know what else you can hear playing in the office? Chimaira. The first cut of their recently shot video for "Down Again" is in, and the nerds in the art department (and that is meant in the nicest possible way) have been watching it over and over and over again. Final master should be in house mid-week next week. The video will be online shortly thereafter, and it will also be on the CD release of their upcoming 5/13 The Impossibility Of Reason. Now you nerds with slow, weak computer machine internet connections (again, meant in the nicest possible way) can watch the video like watching it on television...and on demand, too. In the meantime, check out our VIDEO section for current Chimaira features. Oh, and as this is being written, Chris from Chimaira is online right now, making this news update take longer than it should... Fear Factory - well, we have a confirmed release date for their upcoming Hatefiles release. drumroll...April 8th... Yeah, that is what we originally said, but you know this racket, things can change, and normally do. But now, the April 8th release date is officially set in stone (hopefully that didn't just jinx something). the bio situation - up now, three new bios - one for Killswitch Engage, one for Rumblefish, and one for Spineshank (a very highly recommended piece of reading). Check them out now on each band's respective artist page. The Vault - holy crap this has been a long time in the making...ever check out our MUSIC section and see that paragraph about The Vault? Well, though it might have seemed so much at times over the past couple of years, those words are not empty. Soon - much sooner than you think - it will be up and running. EVERY track released that built the Roadrunner Records brand - and many that were never released - will be up for your ears to hear. And yes, we are even talking albums that are no longer manufactured. True. Details and dates coming soon...real soon. We shit you not.
