"Sometimes achingly beautiful, sometimes unabashedly brutal, often a combination of both Ghost Reveries stands as a testament to 15 years of unrelenting experimentation by some of the best metal minds of our generation." - DECIBEL Magazine Critical favorites, Opeth, are set to launch the much-anticipated second stage of their Ghost Reveries tour in North America, beginning on 2/15 in Raleigh, NC. In tow on this outing will be Dark Tranquility supporting directly and The Devin Townsend Band as openers in February and labelmates Devildriver as openers in March. Opeth have thrilled on the road, their last tour sold out venues ranging from 1000 – 1500 capacity and drew critical RAVES from all over the country. "Opeth never reached for extreme dissonances, but it does have the gift of proportion: songs lasted more than 10 minutes but never seemed to digress or bog down," said the NY Times of their show "Opeth jolted its fans into motion, gave them occasional breathers, jolted them again and finally eased them down. After all, mortality ends in stillness." Special performances entitled "CHRONOLOGY MCMXCIV- MMV - A LIVE OBSERVATION BY OPETH" will be held in select U.S. markets and encompass material from each of their albums released throughout their career (1994-Present). These shows will be seated with no support bands and will run for over 2 hours each with unique production. The markets in which these special nights will be held are New York, NY, Chicago, IL and there is also a to-be-scheduled special performance in Los Angeles, CA.
