Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson was interviewed by NorthJersey.com recently, in preparation for the band's gig at Newark's Prudential Center this coming Saturday night. He talked about bringing string players onstage with the band, performing songs from their new album Clockwork Angels onstage (they're doing nine!), and more.
"It's six violinists and two cellists. They are fabulous players, and I love sharing the stage with them," Lifeson says, adding that "we're also going to bring back some old material that had strings on it and maybe look at some other songs that would lend themselves well to a string arrangement."
Asked about the amount of new material they're presenting, he says, "I couldn't imagine playing the same hits night after night. We could never be a nostalgia band."
