Rush performed at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ on Saturday night, as part of their North American tour supporting their latest album, Clockwork Angels. And when we say they were supporting Clockwork Angels, we mean just that - they played a three-hour show, divided into three parts (two full sets and an encore), and at the beginning of the second set, they played nine of the album's 12 songs, skipping only "BU2B," "Seven Cities of Gold," and "BU2B2." Even more interestingly, especially for longtime fans, they were joined onstage by an eight-piece string ensemble with its own conductor, not just for the Clockwork Angels songs, but several older songs, too - "Dreamline" from Roll the Bones, "Red Sector A" from Grace Under Pressure, "YYZ" from Moving Pictures, and "The Spirit of Radio" from Permanent Waves.
