Rush's 20th studio album, Clockwork Angels, debuted on the Billboard charts this week at #2, with sales of over 104,000 copies. This is the band's second time hitting #2 (they did it with Counterparts in 1993), and a substantial first-week improvement over their last album, 2007's Snakes & Arrows, which debuted at #3 with 93,000 copies.

Clockwork Angels debuted at #1 in the band’s native Canada, and the album has already achieved the band’s highest chart debuts in over a decade from Japan (#2), Norway (#10), Germany and Holland (#11), and Switzerland (#21). In the UK, the album was also released as an exclusive non-chart eligible fan pack format which included a 132-page booklet covering the entire history of the band - had the 40,000 fanpacks sold been chart eligible, the album would have debuted at #1 in the UK as well.
