As Stone Sour prepare to digitally release their first official single off the upcoming album Audio Secrecy with "Say You'll Haunt Me," the fan reaction to the song, currently streaming at this location, has been astounding.
AOL Radio Blog writes, "The song unexpectedly kicks off with chiming, clean guitar notes more reminiscent of The Cure than Slipknot, Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor's other band. A steady backbeat and distorted guitars bring out Taylor's trademark growl from time to time, however keeping it melodic for the soaring chorus: 'Say you'll never die / You'll always haunt me / I want to know / I belong to you / Say you'll haunt me."
Addressing the tone of this song in opposition with the band's other track available for streaming, "Mission Statement," Corey Taylor puts the whole album in context, saying "The dimensions go further than anything we've ever tried before. It's metal, rock, slow, soft, hard, fast, bitter, beautiful and most importantly, it's real."
"Say You'll Haunt Me" will be digitally available this Tuesday, July 20th, and Audio Secrecy is out September 7th. Pick up the MP3 next week and stay tuned to the band's newly launched website stonesour.com for details on how to pre-order the highly anticipated album coming soon.
