So, we travel over to the UK once again. Earlier this year we wrote where Roadrunner bands fell on the Kerrang! Readers' Poll Awards, and now we will report back on where RR acts clocked in on the Metal Hammer Readers' Poll 2003 Awards. As follows: Best Overall Band Clocking in at #4, a band Roadrunner can now call one of their's, Cradle Of Filth. And charting at #5, Machine Head (get used to reading that name in this update). For the record, H.I.M. was voted #1. Best Album Machine Head Through The Ashes Of Empires comes in at #2 (released last Fall in Europe, coming out in April in the US), DevilDriver's self-titled debut comes in at #8, and Nickelback The Long Road comes in at #9. For the record, Iron Maiden Dance Of Death was #1. Best Single Murderdolls "White Wedding" is #5. For the record, The Darkness "I Believe In A Thing Called Love" took #1. Best British Band Cradle Of Filth takes #2 on this list...Iron Maiden, for the record, #1. Best New Band Holding the #1 slot on this is Chimaira, which is a bit surprising considering this was after the band's 2nd full length. DevilDriver takes the #7 slot. Best Guitarist Machine Head's Robert Flynn is #1. Best Bass Player Machine Head's Adam Duce is #5. Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), for the record, takes #1 slot. Best Drummer Joey Jordison. #1. Was there ever a doubt? (wait till you hear Joey on the new Slipknot music) Best Album Cover Artwork Machine Head Through The Ashes Of Empires takes #1, Chimaira The Impossibility Of Reason takes #3, and Nickelback The Long Road rounds out the Top 10. Man Of The Year Machine Head's Robert Flynn is #2, second to only Ozzy. Website Of The Year We give a special shout-out to Borivoj on this, as blabbermouth.net takes #2 honors...oddly enough, metalhammer.co.uk took the #1 honours on this. Congratulations to all. Hey, and can all these UK blokes be wrong? Machine Head Through The Ashes Of Empires coming April 20th
