Last night (7/10) at The Social in Orlando, doubleDrive played to a packed house. "It was a real good homecoming for us, haven't played there in a while," tells frontman Donnie. "Amazing time." Speaking with Donnie en route to Ft Lauderdale for tonight's show at the Culture Room, you catch a full sense of excitement from the whole band about last night's show. "Amazing set...very little talking, whole lotta playing," Donnie continues. "We wanted to get in as many songs as we could. It just rocked." Speaking of songs, doubleDrive opened their set with Cheap Trick's "Hello There," and closed with "Tattooed Bruise" (a track from their first album, a signature song for them in that town, the song that got them their first record deal). As for the heat situation, "it was hella-hot," describes Donnie..."hotter than a cucumber in a woman's prison." Now that's hot. "Brutally hot. I walked off the stage, shook a couple hands, then went outside and just stripped." Another word about the night? "I don't know. It was just amazing." for all upcoming doubleDrive tour dates, see our TOUR section new album Blue In The Face in stores now
