We actually have gotten a lot of emails over the past weekend asking this exact question - "Why did Slipknot play 'The Heretic Anthem' instead of 'Left Behind' (as originally planned) on The Conan O'Brien Show?" Do you want to know the truth? You can't handle the truth! (sorry about that, "A Few Good Men" was on tv last night...) Anyway, truth be told - yes, Slipknot was originally going to play "Left Behind" on Conan this past Friday (08/10) night. However, 2 days before the show, they changed their mind. Reason? To set a precedent that heavy music in full on brutality can be played on national television. To make a statement. How often do you ever hear anything that heavy on National television??? We'll tell ya...NEVER. Not to mention the fact that the line "666" was screamed in all its fury over 20 times, surely setting a new standard for FCC Regulations...not to mention what the CBN (Christian Broadcasting Network) must be thinking. This is Slipknot...they are for real. IOWA in stores August 28th...
