Some notes of interest from the studio this week: 36 Crazyfists - mixing for their debut Bitterness The Star is moving along. Word is that 5-6 songs are now complete. Their A&R Rep, the Monte Conner, tells the mixes are sounding great. Mixing should be complete come mid-September. Coal Chamber - Today (08/29) marks Meeg's last day in the studio, meaning all guitar will be completed come day's end. Also going on today, Dez will be hitting the studio with the guys from Motograter to lay down some 'motograter' on the tracks. Not sure which tracks this will happen to, but figure it will be on two songs. Tomorrow (08/30) Dez will be laying down the vocals for the song "Rowboat". The chorus screams 'get out of my rowboat'. Dez tells "it should be pretty easy to figure out what I'm talking about." Coal Chamber should be finished in the studio come Wednesday or Thursday next week. Misfits - more of a tease than anything else, but keep checking back for news on something that is apparently going to happen... Nickelback - not really a news story here nor an update from the studio, but just something cool to tell ya. This afternoon (08/29) the band was in the office and Chad and Ryan played acoustic versions of a couple tracks off their upcoming Silver Side Up release for the Roadrunner crew. Very fuckin' cool, we must admit. Funny thing, as Chad said before playing, "we might just be the first Roadrunner act to pick up an acoustic guitar!" Correction, actually Type O Negative's Kenny Hickey can be see holding an acoustic guitar on the back cover of their The Origin Of The Feces lp, circa 1992. Outside of that, Chad could be right! (see, you really learn something new every day) Spineshank - the band will be heading to the UK tomorrow (08/30) for the FIRST time to play nine shows. When they get back to Cali, they will be writing their follow up to The Height Of Callousness
