some current notes of interest from the studio this week, and there are quite a bit: Deicide - no recording update per say, just a bit of info: Our controller, Neil (he has been making quite a name for himself on the Roadrunner website lately, yes?), had a bit of email correspondence with Glen Benton today. What was said? "Been listening to Serpents of the Light these last few days. I like it, particularly 'Slave to the Cross'," told Neil. Glen agreed, citing that track as one of his favorites, too. For the record, Neil truly was listening to the Serpents Of The Light release in his office today...cred for the Controller... Ill Nino - two, count 'em, TWO European commercial single cd's heading for release come May 13th. Both for the single "What Comes Around". Both contain the "What Comes Around" video. Both contain the recently completed "Fallen" b-side. So what makes them different? One release will contain a third track, a live version of "God Save Us" - recorded at the Brixton Academy in the UK. The single with the extra track is known as the Maxi-Single, as our 'all things INTL' spokesperson tells. Jerry Cantrell - yes, there are advance copies of the Degredation Trip going around. However, 'tweaks' are currently being done to the final master of this piece. The master is due at recording plant on Monday (04/15). Remember, street date is now 06/18, one week earlier than previously scheduled. Nickelback - mixing of the live audio for the upcoming dvd was goin' on this week. In fact, audio mixing could be complete as early as today (04/12). Rumblefish - for this new Roadrunner act, don't get too attached to the name, word is it just might have to change. However, do know that Dave tells the band could be in the studio come August. Sinch - Kevin 'Caveman' Shirley was brought in, and he re-mixed the track "Something More", which will be featured on their upcoming debut. Not a 're-mix' as you would think (i.e. different beats, more layers...), but re-mixed the track. Make sense? Slipknot - Clown will be heading back to England at the end of the month for more video edits in regards to the upcoming dvd. Colin Richardson is to start mixing the audio come 05/02 in London. By the way, The Production Gospel According To Dave will be broadcasting live from Iowa next week. Yes, Dave will be meeting up with the band to discuss some Slipknot dvd details, on the band's home turf, during the latter part of next week. Soulfly - there will indeed be 2 versions of their upcoming 3 release - digi and jewel. However, the digi version will not be released in the US. Track listings are not 100% set as of yet. They will be once Monte masters on 04/22. This is The Production Gospel According to Dave...Phase II is upon us...you have been warned...resistance is futile...
