For over the past month plus, we at Roadrunner and the cats at Guitar World and Revolver mags brought you what was known as the Roadrunner Road Rage Tour. The tour officially kicked off on September 14th, and its last date was but less than a week ago, October 23rd. As you know, those involved were Fear Factory, Machine Head, Chimaira, and Ill Nino. We would like to take a line here to say 'thanks' - first and foremost - to all of you who attended the show(s), and to the bands who played them. Thanks. Word coming from any of the bands is that they loved doing this tour. It almost seemed like a family by the end. To prove, the last show: The Masquerade - Atlanta, GA - the scene of the crime for the last show. What happened? Robert Flynn (vocals/guitar, Machine Head) joined Chimaira on stage during their set for "Severed" off Pass Out Of Existence. Dino Cazares (guitar, Fear Factory) joined Chimaira on stage for a track pulled from the Chimairan archives - "Silence". Check this out, halfway through "Silence" they shifted gears and broke into the track "Raining Blood" from Slayer (yes, the ultimate band does exist). During Machine Head's set, apparently ALL of Chimaira joined MH on stage for the playing of "Davidian". Oh, and Jim LaMarca (bass, Chimaira) played a drum solo to end Machine Head's set. Yes, Jim is a bassist...and word is that his drum solo didn't make anyone forget that fact, if you know what we mean... And Fear Factory. During FF's sound check, Andols Herrick (drums, Chimaira) played "Self Bias Resistor" with Dino. During the set, Mark Hunter (vocals, Chimaira) played guitar with Dino on "Replica" while Adam Duce (bass, Machine Head) came up and added more bass. And of course, pretty much all band members joined FF on stage for the singing of "Edgecrusher". "It was metal". After the show, the rockers hung out at the club for the rest of the night getting their 'drink on', before saying their goodbyes and heading their separate ways. So, where are they now? Chimaira - since the Road Rage tour, Chimaira made their way back home to Ohio to regroup for a couple days. But, not for long. On Saturday (10/27) they started a journey whose final destination was New Orleans. In fact, after a couple detours, they arrived this morning. Tonight (10/29) marks opening night of their US tour with SLAYER (yes, we know). This tour, dubbed the God Hates The World tour, is on now...Oh yeah, it's on. For more info on this blessed event, check out www.RoadrunnerRecords.com/GodHatesTheWorld. Ill Nino - if you were astute enough, you'd have noticed that we did not mention Ill Nino when recapping Road Rage's last show. Did ya notice? Well, there was good reason for that - Ill Nino was not there, else we are sure there would have been even more inbreeding between Roadrunner acts happening on stage. Nope, Ill Nino was not there. They broke off the Road Rage tour a day early to join their new tour - The Oracle Tour - with Kittie and labelmates Dry Kill Logic. This tour started on 10/22 in Austin, and will run until the end of November. For more info, check out www.RoadrunnerRecords.com/OracleTour. Machine Head - the band has made their way back home to the Bay Area, where they will be until the end of the month. Perhaps a local hometown show is in store for them? Hmmm? Hmmmm? Regardless, they are taking their act overseas, for a Supercharged headline tour of their own. Their Euro tour starts 11/04 and will run until 12/19. Check out the latest video from Machine Head off Supercharger at www.RoadrunnerRecords.com/CrashingAroundYou. Fear Factory - just like Machine Head, they too have made their way back home to the West Coast. And, much like Machine Head, they are taking their act overseas. Fear Factory will be starting a headline Euro tour on Halloween night. First stop is the Limelight in Belfast. This tour is also scheduled to Switzerland, Japan, and Australia. It will end on 12/18 in New Zealand. For a complete listing of dates, check out our TOUR section. This, is the word of the road...
