Breakout artists Young The Giant officially have two gold records to celebrate. The first two singles from their self-titled debut album, “My Body” and “Cough Syrup,” have gone gold in the United States, while “My Body” has gone platinum and “Cough Syrup” gold in Canada. “My Body” peaked at #4 on the Billboard alternative chart while the follow-up, “Cough Syrup,” reached #2.
Young The Giant are currently hard at work on new music for their second album, due later this year.
To date, the band has received innumerable "Band To Watch" accolades from outlets like the New York Times, Spin and Nylon to name a few, and were selected by MTV to perform “My Body” at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards. Young The Giant has also made their way around the TV circuit, performing on the Today Show, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Last Call With Carson Daly and MTV Unplugged, among others. “Cough Syrup” was also featured in the opening scene of the winter finale of GLEE on FOX.
Young The Giant have built a massively successful touring presence, traveling the globe, headlining sold-out shows and performing on the main stages at renowned festivals including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits and Bonnaroo. They capped off 2012 headlining 70 dates, selling over 100,000 tickets combined, with most shows selling out months in advance, including two nights at The Wiltern in LA, two nights at Stubbs in Austin and 9,000 tickets sold at Pacific Amphitheatre in Orange County, CA.
