Finally my Consultant said I could return to my Studio Apartment! So happy and I know things will work out! I am also the Maureen Angel; or Grace Maureen- Just taken a break from everything and planning a holiday to the states very soon! I miss my friends there!
The Far away song is also very special to me because of my American Hubby, and the video rememebering when some memories return.
Anyway All the Very Best in the Top VHI count down!
Love Always,
Grace Ruto ( Author of Enchanting Echoes on amazon website.)

Love releases it
Hatred confuses Life
Love harmonizes it

Love illuminates it

There I go again talking to myself. Now I can't remember where I put that comment. I know I made a private one, and perhaps that's for the best. Oh, and the song is "Woke Up This Morning." » Add Comment » Close Comments » Report Abuse09.06.2009 Maggie Ringland wrote...

As I watched the video again, I'm not sure if it's Mike or Ryan on the guitar who is doing that beautiful bass line; but it must be Mike. Engineering is a beautiful thing these days. What I hear is: there, there, there, there; and there, there, there--the-there. That is the lullabye. » Add Comment » Close Comments » Report AbusePosted by: Maggie Ringland | 09.08.2009
I think I've got it now. I watched the Live at Sturgis DVD (parents, not for the kiddies unless you watch if first and are quick on the pause button--although someone told me there is an edited version available), and Chad is playing as well as singing (although it looks like Ryan perhaps could not make this tour)--I can see, even though admittedly my knowledge of guitar and bass guitar chords is rather scant (but I do know what struts and frets are), Mike is playing the chord parts of what I'm hearing but he's also strumming. Pardon me, but in some instruments I have yet to learn how to chew gum and walk. The chord changes, however, and the timing of them gave that part away but I am still unable to see the "the-there" part. I love a good mystery. » Add Comment » Close Comments » Report AbusePosted by: Maggie Ringland | 09.09.2009
I went out for a walk, did some shopping and some listening while I was on the way. What would happen, to get the "the-there" in the bass guitar if you lifted your fingers briefly off the chord, then put them right back on with a little strum at the end, just prior to the instrumental cesura? Also, at times, he graduates his chord changes. People also forget sometimes that the voice is an instrument as well. What you learned to do with your voice amazes me sometimes, that is why this song is so compelling in so many ways. We hear you singing straight through. And vocally, there are lots of triplets in the song--but not too many. Well, enough adoration for you guys tonight. » Add Comment » Close Comments » Report Abuse09.06.2009 Maggie Ringland wrote...

This was a great loss for them and myself. That brother,Richard, was a great friend, and was there for me at a time when I thought my whole world was crashing down around me,and I was on the phone with him when he got the call,at the station,to go to that house. His last words to me were,"If I make it out of there alive,I will talk to you soon.Later, about a week, one of his sisters showed up at my 3d club that Rich had been helping me to build and decorate, and told me what had happened. We formed a very strong bond from that tragedy, and are still friends today. This song represents so much of what not only the firemen and women go through in their efforts to save lives and homes, but what it is for the people in their lives, waiting at home for them. Very strong emotions. You guys captured that so beautifully and powerfully.Thank you
